Farrar (Draft)

Farrar hive: Langstroth-footprint using 3/4-depth (“medium/Illinois”) boxes—about 6⅝″ (≈168 mm) box depth with 6¼″ (≈159 mm) frames—for both brood and honey. Popularised by Dr. C. L. Farrar (USDA) to reduce lift weights and standardise on one box size (“all-mediums”) while keeping Langstroth compatibility.
